MEZKO unveil new single Come & Go, share Aus tour dates

Fresh from their incredible Polychronic EP late last year, the menacing electronic titans will also be supporting Crooked Colours this month.

Since catching our eye last year with their moody, futuristic electro-pop, Sydney pairing MEZKO have done nothing but impress. Their debut EP Polychronic is like nothing else in the Australian dance music scene at the moment, pushing boundaries with their dark, cinematic sound that is almost perfectly described as 'controlled chaos' – just give the heaving singles Trust and Steady On a listen and you'll quickly get what we're saying. After spending much of the past few months showcasing their memorable live show (it's definitely something to check out if you're yet to), the two-piece have returned with a solid follow-up single in Come & Go, and it's a definite winner.

Like much of their Polychronic EP, Come & Go is a three-minute onslaught of gritty electro-rock. Their hypnotic vocals are centre stage, while spiralling, synth-drenched melodies twist and warp in the background amongst crisp percussion and their raw instrumentation style – a style that adds a touch of punk-rock nostalgia to the mix. It's a tribute to the 70s glam of acts like Iggy Pop and Patti Smith, blurring the lines of gender through music and aesthetic in a way comparable to the late David Bowie. "Come & Go is a song about just getting on with it. The video is inspired by the sounds and style of the early 70s - there's no other genre that celebrates sass in the way glam does, and we also took some inspiration from that attitude when creating this song. In 2018, we’re still exploring the possibilities of individuals despite traditional gender limitations and looking forward to a more androgynous future."

Accompanying the single is a quick run of headline shows this June, which join their shows this month supporting WA exports Crooked Colours on their own headline tour. Check out the full list of shows below, and grab tickets to the June shows HERE.
