Exclusive Video: Metronomy's Joe Mount takes you behind the scenes of his new album, Summer '08

Taking a trip down memory lane.

Today sees the release of a brand-spanking new Metronomy album, and Summer '08 is a fantastically fun, synth-ridden collection of retro-infused pop complete with Joseph Mount's typically effortless charm. The album takes a look "all the way back" to 2008 and the release of that year's album, Nights Out, which might seem odd unless you were someone like us who spend a lot of time looking back to those glorious late-2000s years of music (and we know there's a lot of you). Good times and breezy beats have always been Metronomy's MO, and Summer '08 is packed to the brim with joyous synth-pop melodies that skirt the line between nostalgia and self-awareness in a way that Mount has mastered to perfection over the years.

We're fortunate enough today to unveil the below video, an interview with Mount that goes behind the scenes of Summer '08, which found him sampling himself smashing wine glasses with a hammer, looking into being a scratch DJ before calling on turntablist legend Mixmaster Mike, flexing his drumming muscle and more.

Enjoy a look into Summer '08, and grab it from iTUNES.
