Walyalup/Fremantle based new wave act returns with a fresh slice of industrial tinged synth pop

A few months after we premiered their dancefloor-filling cut of proto house that is Heaven, today Web Rumors is back with Northern Service, a synth-packed ode to the iconic UK Rail announcements, as voiced by one Celia Drummund (nee Humpris).

Burrows explains the idea behind the track saying “I have always been a huge fan of Celia Humphris as the singer with Trees but never realized she was also responsible for the train announcements in England!” says Burrows.

“Her voice is iconic. It is lilting, affirming and clear – exactly what you want to hear when you’re travelling. When I stumbled across some samples of her announcements I couldn’t help but use them in a track. It ended up being a tribute to her really.”

Using sequencers, drum machines and synths to replicate a train's chugging, Northern Service is a hypnotic exploration of old school minimal electronics from a modern perspective, give it a spin!
