Kimbra releases new single Human, shares new album release date

Originally slated for release this month, Kimbra's long-awaited new album Primal Heart will now arrive April 20th.

One of the big highlights of 2017 was the return of New Zealand musician Kimbra, who has been quietly working on her long-awaited The Golden Echo follow-up since 2014. The first tease of her upcoming third album Primal Heart came with Everybody Knows, an incredibly slick, Little Dragon-esque gem of electro-pop which proved that Kimbra still has it despite so many years away from the limelight. She then followed it up with Top Of The World, an anthemic and easily replayable single which spotlighted Kimbra's uplifting vocals above an industrial-like production from electronic heavyweight Skrillex, with the album's release date then slated for mid-January. Now she's back, starting off 2018 with the release of Human, which comes with the news that Kimbra's long-awaited Primal Heart will now arrive in April.

Human is another energetic and empowering electro-pop gem from the New Zealand musician, who continues to drift away from her soft and timid sound in favour for one that is far more bold and confident. Kimbra, as always, feels vocally at home on Human, with her uplifting vocals paired with another electronic production that twangs with this metallic flavour to it, which joins clanging percussion and punchy melodies for a single which is distinctly more in-your-face and aggressive than her past work. Dive into the single's official video clip below, and grab Primal Heart when it arrives on April 20th.
