With a quality over quantity approach to music and brilliant skillset in songwriting and production, Sydney's Hayden James has stepped it up over the years to become one of our premier electronic acts. From the early Permission To Love days to now, the musician has seemingly strived and strived with every release, from an A-grade run in singles - Something About YouJust A LoverNumbJust FriendsBetter Together - to remixes for Bob Moses, Empire of the Sun and more; generally speaking, when Hayden James approaches a project, he smashes it right out the bloody park. As a result, he's not just become a favourite of ours but a favourite of Australia's and beyond that, finding applause in the United States - similarly to where RÜFÜS DU SOL were in the build-up to Bloom, which really broke them out internationally - while soundtracking basically every memory we've had over the last three years - late nights most certainly among them.

In 2019, however, Hayden James is switching things up. He's releasing an album. Finally.

In what's perhaps one of the most highly-awaited Australian releases for the year, June 14 will see the arrival of Between Us - a multi-track, long-form release from the producer/songwriter that is set to cement his place in our electronic scene as one of the greats, with a potentially career-defining record on the cards. There's not too much known about the record outside of its release date and its arrival on Future Classic, but it'll no doubt deepen his hook-infused, sun-soaked house sound while pointing into a very bright future, something we get a slight glimpse of with the release of Nowhere To Go - the album's next tease.

Featuring NAATIONS (Nicky Night Time & Nat Dunn), Nowhere To Go is a bright, summery tune from Hayden James that soundtracks the introduction of the colder weather in a perfect way, with soft house grooves and glistening synth melodies meeting catchy hooks you won't be able to get out of your head. "I met Nicky & Nat (NAATIONS) last year in LA. I played them a bunch of demos I’d been working on and one just clicked. I’d written it the night before and Nat & Nicky came with an incredible top line that just fit perfectly," he says on the single. "This song has always had a big summer vibe for me, I feel a sense of freedom and hope and the notion of ‘you only live once’ so make the most of it... ‘we ain’t got no better place to go, doesn’t matter cause I know you’." Listen to the track below, and catch him at a bunch of dates coming up, with a full album tour to come very shortly.

Tour Dates:

Saturday, May 4 - For Shore Festival, Sandstone Point
Saturday, June 8 - Curveball, Sydney
Saturday, June 22 - Why Not Festival, Darwin
Friday, July 19 - Splendour In The Grass, North Byron Parklands
