Cosmo's Midnight end their 2017 with a rework of Jill Scott's Cross My Mind

The Sydney electronic brothers have had a mammoth year thus far, but they're not quite done yet.

After dominating 2016 with the ear-worming Snare and KUČKA-featuring Walk With Me, Sydney electronic twins Cosmo's Midnight have somehow managed to one-up themselves this year, releasing two of 2017's most played singles in History and Mind Off. The two singles have seen the pairing strengthen their electro-pop songwriting skills to unbearably good levels (something rewarded in the success of the tracks), which they're now continuing in a bit of a different way for a remix of Jill Scott's minimalist anthem Cross My Mind.

Cosmo's Midnight's remix of Cross My Mind continues to tease this funk-infused, synth-drenched sound highlighted in tracks like History, cutting-and-screwing Scott's original vocal line and pairing it with a bassy, Kaytranada-esque bassline. It's got this exceptionally summery flavour to it, a feeling which Cosmo's Midnight are renowned for, but with the warmer weather now in full swing, it's nice to have another taste of Cosmo's refreshing sound to keep us fresh and cool.

The pairing have a big year planned for 2018 too, but while we wait for what exactly this suggests, be sure to catch Cosmo's Midnight at all stops of the upcoming Falls Festival tour over the new year period.
