Watch: Moreton - Down + Out

Watch: Moreton - Down + Out

Beautifully moody downtempo indie sounds from emerging Brisbane trio

Coming off the back of an appearance on Jordan Rakei’s edition of the Late Night Tales series and a national tour with #1 Dads are Moreton, who today unveil their gorgeous new single, Down + Out. Co-produced between the band’s lead singer/guitarist Georgia Potter and Tom Iansek (#1 Dads, Big Scary), the track is an emotional number, fusing a wide range of styles from indie rock to influences from jazz and chamber pop, resulting in an exciting sound from the three-piece.

Of the track, the band say “We wanted the song to feel uneasy but beautiful, like how it is to worry about someone you deeply care about. It’s about the complexity of realising you’ve gone beyond each other’s reach and the allure of recklessness & sabotage.” Uneasy but beautiful - that’s what I was trying to say!
