Premiere: The Holy Smoke - Little Light

Enjoy some soulful folk sounds & three part harmonies from Boorloo-based band ahead of release

Back with their first music since 2019's acclaimed EP The River, Perth-based three-piece The Holy Smoke are back with a new single of rousing soulful folk, Little Light, out May 10 but premiering on Pilerats today!

Comprised of Delilah Rose, Rose Parker and Karlee Rae (all accomplished solo artists in their own rights), The Holy Smoke bring their trademark three-part harmonies on Little Light, paired beautifully with acoustic guitars and understated drums. Written after the band struggled with writer's block, the single explores these themes of "re-entering back into that creative space and allowing the flame of creativity to continue to burn again". Rae explains "this is for anyone who feels they have lost themselves in the chaos of life and an encouragement to take the brave step ‘out of the darkness and into the light".

In bittersweet news, the Little Light launch at Lyrics Underground on May 13 will be the group's last performance for the foreseeable future, with one of the trio relocating interstate... the good news is we'd imagine it will be one hell of a send-off party! While it may be their last live show, the group has plenty of new music on the way, with a further four singles planned over the next year.

Give Little Light a spin today!
