Premiere: Listen to Cosmic Garbage, a charging new single from Milk Buttons

The Melbourne/Brisbane duo first single since their mid-2017 debut EP sets them as one to watch among the Australian alt-rock scene.

After bursting out of the gates with their debut EP Songs For My Butcher Bird mid-last year, Melbourne/Brisbane psych-rock duo Milk Buttons have been keeping it pretty quiet, working on its awaited follow-up expected possibly sometime this year. Cosmic Garbage is its first taste and it firmly solidifies the pairing's charging, yet still quite dreamy alt-rock sound, which is shaded with these sort-of War On Drugs-esque psychedelics that give it this unique edge. It's a little more slick and polished than their past release too, uniting this washed-out guitar line and driving percussion with bright, super accessible vocals that cut through the single's quite dense and layered production. Check out the track below, and stay tuned for more Milk Buttons goodness throughout the rest of the year.
