Premiere: LAHGO - Black Fairy

Take a first watch of the new house party themed music video for genre-blurring Sydneysider’s multifaceted new single

Not one’s to be sonically pigeonholed are Warrane-based four piece LAHGO, who fuse elements from neo-soul, funk and hip-hop with the heavier side of rock & roll, resulting in a fresh sound such as new single Black Fairy, which alongside its colourful and frenetic video are premiering on Pilerats today.

Coming of the back of a huge 2021 that saw them play venues all around the city from The Lansdowne to Oxford Art Factory, this year has seen the band support the likes of Sloan Peterson and Don West, while in the studio they’ve been busy readying their next EP Chasing The City, with the latest taste being Black Fairy.

Huge distorted guitar riffs meet pounding drums and an adventurous, groove-laden bass line give way to lighter indie-esque verses before kicking things up to 11 for the choruses where frontwoman Mel Bailey’s powerful, commanding vocals steal the show.

Out Thursday, September 1, check out Black Fairy premiering on Pilerats today!
