Premiere: Andy Martin - Toothaches

Meanjin/Brisbane-based singer, songwriter & guitarist releases his first music of the year in the form of new indie pop anthem - listen a few days ahead of release

After having a huge 2022 that saw the release of his debut album Reverie and an 11-date album tour around the East Coast of Australia, Andy Martin is back for 2023 with his new hook filled single of addictive indie-pop Toothaches out September 27 but premiering on Pilerats today!

Wasting no time, Toothaches kicks off with an uplifting flourish of keys, guitars and drums before giving way to Martin’s smoky vocals, building to sing-a-long inducing choruses. Speaking on his new single, Andy explains “I wrote Toothaches in mid-2022 after an amazing holiday that my partner Maisy and I went  on in Tasmania. I feel like the vocal hook in the chorus and the shimmery guitars and synths  throughout really paint a picture of cruising along the Australian coastline. I hope fans of  Ball Park Music and Spacey Jane will really take a liking to this one!

While Toothaches may be his first single of the year, Martin has been busy honing his live shows, having supported the likes of 10CC, Kingswood, Ash, and Good Lekker and played renowned venues institutions like The Fortitude Music Hall, Stones Corner Festival, and The Zoo.

Give Toothaches a listen a few days ahead of release:
