Listen: Springtime - Night Raver

Listen: Springtime - Night Raver

Aussie supergroup featuring Gareth Liddiard (The Drones, Tropical Fuck Storm), Jim White (Xylouris White, Dirty Three, PJ Harvey) and Chris Abrahams (The Necks) unleash epic EP

When it comes to alternative contemporary Australian music, it really doesn’t get much bigger than Springtime (like, I had to re-read the line-up when first announced), with one of the world’s finest improvisational pianists (Abrahams), one of the world’s finest percussionists (White) and one of the world’s finest songwriters, guitarists and vocalists (Liddiard) getting together….

Dropping debut, self-titled album last November, today the group are already back with a new EP. One for the more “adventurous” listeners, Night Raver is the exact opposite of what the words “Night Raver” may engender… and it rules.

Across three, epic, extended cuts, the trio create some of the finest modern alternative Australian music going around, combining alternative/art-rock, post-punk and a myriad of other influences, resulting in a truly remarkable listen.

Springtime’s new EP Night Raver is out now via Joyful Noise Recordings
