Listen: ISLANDIS - Home

Spawning from the ashes of New Navy, ISLANDIS' indie-pop debut is sure to impress.

It's gonna be a sad time when New Navy's debut Zimbabwe isn't regarded as one of the classic 'triple j' songs, with their upbeat style of indie-pop landing the group quite a name for themselves before they called it a day back in April. Lucky for you however, the dismal land of splitsville hasn't stop the members from getting their own names out there, with former members James Chave-Dubois and Ben McInerney teaming up to form ISLANDIS, a tropical-vibing indie group who a few days back, launched their debut single Home. Much like Zimbabwe and the rest of early New Navy, Home is a nostalgic, summer-vibing indie-rock tune, brimming with sun-kissed guitar and vocals amongst bells and handclaps. Taking influence from Belle and Sebastian, Mondo Rock and others, Home is a story of an adventure of escapism and the urgency of experience and a damn good adventure at that. Listen below:
