Listen: Day Wave - You Are Who You Are

Day Wave releases the second track off his Come Home Now 7".

After signing to I OH YOU and dropping Come Home Now Day Wave is back with the second single from his Come Home Now 7" release titled You Are Who You Are. Whereas Come Home Now had this rebellious, I'm-enjoying-this, streak You Are Who You Are seems more accepting of it's present state. The sentimental-tinged guitar strokes and echoing vocals encapsulate that from the start but the strength of this track lies in it's instrumental core. Vocals often tend to play a large role in any commercially-driven song but in You Are Who You Are they takes a back-seat instead letting the track drive into hazy, reverb rife sunset. Nostalgia seems to be something that's coming to the fore in Day Wave tracks, which is tricky when you've never heard a song before but the warm browns, yellows and guitar licks that come and go like telegraph poles a character would drive by as they reflect on life in a moody arthouse film easily shape a sense of nostalgia.
