People are promising 7 News exclusive crime footage, sending Simpsons jokes instead

"Next up on 7 news, hundreds arrested after bombardments of Simpson memes flood the stations inbox."

In what's been another move of pure brilliance on behalf of the Internet, Simpsons fan page members around the world are bombarding Channel 7's news page, claiming to have promising footage of crimes for exclusives. However, when Channel 7 bites and asks for the footage, they are instead met with some hilarious screen grabs from Simpsons episodes, showing the crimes taking place. I can't help but hope that this is a thing that'll last longer than most of chew-and-spit-out memes that are born on the Internet, but I guess we'll see.

[UPDATE: Channel 7 are totes playing the game, and it's pretty great - down the bottom]
