Duncan Storrar donates $6K to Father Bob Foundation, $5K to Men's Shed Association

Along with a significant portion going to his daughters' future education.

After the political media shitstorm that arose following a man asking some politicians about tax breaks on QandA a few weeks ago, things have (thankfully for him) been reasonably quiet on the Duncan Storrar front. After copping a bashing from all corners of the right wing media, dredging through his past and publicly shaming him in front of the nation, Storrar's GoFundMe page (set up by someone else as a joke that took on a life of its own) was stopped at $60,051 - about 10 times what the original price was set as.

After a few weeks out of the news cycle, today ABC News has reported on Storrar's update RE: what he actually intends to do with the money donated to him by a lot of kind-hearted Australians. In a statement posted to his GoFundMe page, "The majority of the money is to be retained to cover costs for his young children’s future secondary education."

In addition, it was revealed that $6K has been donated to former triple j Host Father Bob Maguire's 'The Father Bob Foundation': "You may be pleased to hear that Duncan will indeed buy a $6,000 toaster. Well, an oven, anyway. Duncan has decided to donate $6,000 to The Father Bob Foundation to assist in buying an oven to cook food for the homeless – of which they are in desperate need. This is to acknowledge the toaster that was originally suggested in the campaign. Duncan feels that it would do a lot more good in the hands of The Father Bob Foundation. The F.B.F. do great work and strive towards Father Bob’s vision of ending homelessness; giving all kids a fair start to life and feeding those who aren’t guaranteed a meal."

Furthermore, another $5K will be donated "to a Men's Shed in the rural town where Duncan took refuge when the media storm arose in certain newspapers."
