Over the past few years, annual Brisbane conference BIGSOUND has consistently delivered top-tier lineups that represent what becomes the future of Australian music - something that's been tried and tested through early performances Flume, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Gang of Youths and tonnes more before they became the internationally-dominating names they are today. Even the 2018 billing - including G Flip, Carla Geneve, Arno Faraji, Cable Ties, CXLOE and tonnes more - holds strong twelve months later, solidifying their knack for thinking ahead of the curve and putting on the best Australia has to offer, before everyone else realises the same thing.
Announced today, it seems that this year is going to be much of the same. There'll be 150 acts across 18 official stages throughout Brisbane's Fortitude Valley this September, covering basically every genre of Australia's ever-expanding music scene including a whole bunch of Pilerats favourites and soon-to-be favourites, with the first half arriving today to give you a taste of what to expect. There's Approachable Members Of Your Local Community, Bad//Dreems, Electric Fields, Hemm, Johnny Hunter, LOSER, Love Deluxe, Mickey Kojak, Milan Ring, NERVE, Raj Mahal, Stevan, Tasman Keith, Tones and I, Wolfjay and yergurl leading the mix, while WA's contingent feels particularly strong through Butter, Dulcie, Flossy, Lucy Peach, Reija Lee, Spacey Jane and ZĀN.
