Slumberjack's US Tour Diary

Slumberjack's US Tour Diary

A bloody good time in the states, it would seem.

Slumberjack have kicked off 2016 much in the same way they spent all of 2015 - rolling around the globe throwing down bangers like their latest, below, to their consistently rapidly growing fanbase. Most recently they kicked off the New Year in style at SnowGlobe, before traipsing around America and other such far off places that we felt warranted a little photo diary from the duo before they return to Australia for a run of dates that kicks off in Canberra this Friday. Check 'em once you've gotten insanely jealous of the good slumber life.

Morgan’s first time ever seeing snow. We had to emergency purchase those head warming hats to save our ears from falling off from frostbite (not really, but it was cold).

This is right before Emoh closed the mainstage for Snowglobe Festival on New Year's Eve (also our very first show in the US). He killed it.

Holy Ship Day 1

The whole Holy Ship Crew. The vibe on the boat from the vey start was so dope and everyone was super welcoming and friendly. Was also nice to be able to wear shorts after the -12 degree temperatures in Lake Tahoe.

On the final night of Holy Ship, Snails let everyone crash his set for a huge B2B which was the most epic way to close out the Theatre stage. It went for like two hours and everyone ended up taking over Tommy Trash’s set too.

Control @ Avalon, Los Angeles

We played with Ghastly at Avalon in LA. It was probably one of our favourite shows from the whole tour, it’s such an iconic venue and so many of the artists we’re inspired by have done shows there.

Los Angeles

One of the best parts about travelling is all the awesome people you get to meet. Corey Enemy (glasses man in the middle) took us to his friend Jason’s amazing studio where we played with drones and made music all day.

Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles

Went running around LA and took the most precarious route possible up the hill to the observatory. Kinda cool to be above the layer of smog from the city for this view.

Los Angeles

Who goes to America and doesn’t try Koolaid!? Would strongly recommend exercising caution – never tasted anything so intensely sweet/chemically flavoured in our lives.

Los Angeles

This is our super cool/ghetto studio setup in the living room of our Air Bnb in LA. We worked here most days and it was actually really nice to go back to bare essentials to just focus on writing. You really don’t need a fancy setup to make good music.

Korea Town, Los Angeles

One of the many times we went out for Korean BBQ - we were very spoilt for choice in Korea Town. The best thing was that lots of places work on an all you can eat model so we definitely got our moneys worth.
