Premiere: Serein's blissful single Slow Dance gets a very sweet new video

Dreamy stuff from a relatively fresh new duo.

Serein are chillwavey duo consisting of producer Benny Boi and vocalist Tiff Fung, who after meeting a few years ago at Uni naturally slid into what is now a soulful new electronic project out of Australia. Their debut single Slow Dance lit up the triple j Unearthed charts, and we're excited to premiere its video clip for you today. The dreamy, euphoric beats found within are perfectly set to a very sweet and gorgeously shot video clip. In their relatively brief career thus far they've already supported the likes of Lastlings and Lakyn, and it would appear the sky is the limit for another exciting electronic production duo on the Australian beats scene.

The video was actually directed by Ben's brother, who sent over a wonderful bit of insight into how the clip came to be:

"Being brothers, Ben and I are often on the same wavelength when it comes to our taste in music, movies, etc. So when we were coming up with ideas for this video we weren't too far away from each other with the visuals and style that we had in mind. We started big and both threw out a few ideas that we wanted to explore but which might've been a bit ambitious before settling on a very simple concept that Ben initially had about two people dancing across different landscapes, which I added some of my own ideas to, making it a sweet, short piece about how touch and intimacy can take you away.

"Visually I wanted to keep things soft and hazy and also give the video a vintage look. Depth of field is extremely shallow throughout and I ended up embracing a lot of the moments that went in and out of focus for effect. The video, and how it's put together, is heavily linked to the song with each movement of the song signalling change and movement in the video. We had a lot of footage, so whittling it down to what's there now and making it work with the music took some time, and we're quite happy with what we managed to create with a very small crew, limited resources and a small window of time.

"At the end of the day it's all about the music and Ben's made a great track, I can only hope that the video complements what he's made."
