Premiere: Tassie dance punks Chase City unleash new single, A-N-X-T

The five-piece's latest brings with it plenty of v-i-b-e-s.

Following on from a couple of hot fire singles in Surrounded and Tear You Down, Tasmania-based five-piece Chase City are showing no signs of slowing down with latest track, A-N-X-T. Recorded and produced by ARIA-winner Magoo AKA Lachlan Goold (Midnight Oil, Regurgitator, Powderfinger), A-N-X-T finds the group with one eye firmly planted on the dancefloor. In the traditoin of acts like The Rapture, Hot Hot Heat and The Vines, it harkens back to a simpler time in music, but sitting very comfortably on the 2017 landscape. Good times are the game here, and Chase City have 'em in spades: "We wrote A-N-X-T well over a year ago at a time when we were experimenting pretty heavily having grown tired of the indie pop sound that we had been pursuing for the two years prior. The band was listening to a lot of old Talking Heads & Bowie records along with really getting into the DFA-inspired dance-punk scene that was around in the early 2000s."
