Methyl Ethel tease new album Triage with another stellar single, Trip The Mains

Their third studio album arrives on February 15, and can't come soon enough.

Towards the end of last year came the exciting news that Methyl Ethel are releasing a new album called Triage in 2019, and as we march towards the February 15 release date, today we've got another taste of what to expect with latest single, Trip The Mains. Main man Jake Webb is typically effusive when it comes to what the track is about, but would we want anything less? "Behind every eye-twitch, a depleted mainframe barely pulses," he says. "Trip The Mains is my moment of short circuiting."

The single comes with another Matt Sav-directed video clip, a swirling, psychedelic trip into the mind of Webb. And while he has generally taken centre stage in the lead-up to this album's release (he wrote, produced and performed Triage in its entirety), Methyl Ethel is still very much a full band, with an expanded (and incredibly talented) lineup that counts Thom Stewart, Chris Wright, Lyndon Blue and Jacob Diamond as its members.

Methyl Ethel have kinda slid under the radar these past few years to become one of Australia's biggest and most exciting exports, and we get the feeling 2019 might be the year they fully jet into the stratosphere. You can experience the new lineup in the flesh when they play the full St. Jerome's Laneway Festival tour to kick off February - check the full run of dates under Trip The Mains, below:
