Listen to Ah Trees' funk-tinged new single, Chippy

Listen to Ah Trees' funk-tinged new single, Chippy

They launch it at The Bird this Thursday.

"Oh this song sounds like Cut Copy, oh wait no no that was totally off, I'm not even sure now," were some of my first thoughts hearing Ah Trees's latest single Chippy as I tried to place the 80s Nile Rodgers guitars against the dense layers of reverb and intriguing vocals. But you know sometimes music became a little too caught up in what you sound like and not so much concerned with whether it's good or not. Chippy is definitely on the good spectrum of music, it's catchy, it's got a bass line that sounds like it's traversing the galaxy with all the reverb and the vocals echo so much they must be coming from another world. Luckily you won't need to go far to see them if you live Perth though as they have their single launch for Chippy tomorrow! Check the details below and if you're digging Chippy then listen to Ah Trees's earlier track Bodies.
