Introducing: La Mar

Introducing: La Mar

Meet the duo behind Stoney Roads Records' second-ever release.

Since announcing the launch of their new Stoney Roads Records label, the good lads over at Stoney Roads have dropped two tunes thus far. The first saw some fairly chilled future-beat stylings in the form of 20-year-old German producer Mazde and his tune Shifted Thoughts feat. La Mar. Since then the featured vocalists on that track - La Mar - can proudly laid claim to release 002 - Anchor, another very chilled slice of groovy electronica. Take a listen below, and get to know the Sydney duo after that:

What kinda tunes we talkin’?

Smooth, slow, electronic. It’s about taking the vibe that inspired us and making other people feel the same way.

Production/writing process:

Plug in a Fender Rhodes, a moog and a microphone. Then have a click around in Ableton. Keeping the process as fluid as possible.

What do you do outside of La Mar?

We are both pretty focused on music and it is a huge part of our lives. Andrew works at REC studios as an engineer/producer and Dylan has his own solo project which is in the alt-folk land, he is also pretty involved in youth programs and getting the next generation of cultural creatives inspired.

Any shows coming up?

We are currently on tour with Tora (which has been rad) The shows left include:

27 Nov @ Alumbrah, Brisbane

12 Dec @ The Armidale Club, Armidale

14 Dec @ Church Street, Bellingen

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

We have a couple things up our sleeves for the rest of the year like releasing a sneaky live session of a new song and a couple more remixes of Anchor by our favourite Sydney producers. It's always great to hear our friends and heroes reinterpreting our tracks.

When can we hear more of your music?

We spent a day Red Bull Music Australia last month, some interviews and tracks from that will surface soon. We have more then a few beats kicking around in the catalogue, but you’ll probably have to wait until early next year for a single.
