Hip Hop Emojis
A graphic designer has created Emojis inspired by rap music - #RapMoji.
The recent success of the Seinfeld edition of the Emoji alphabet, invented by Twitter star Jason Richards, mastermind behind Seinfeld Current Day (@seinfeld2000), proved there's a future market for specialised Emojis (albeit still not the technology to install / replace your Emoji keyboard with them).
Graphic designer Frank Lepkowski has likewise taken it upon himself to create some culturallly relevant emojis: he just designed #RapMoji, with everything you’ll ever need when shooting the breeze about rap music, including double cup symbols, lean bottle symbols, ‘The Weezy’, the Rae Sremmurd “No Type” Emoji, the Kanye West Yeezus Emoji and our favourite, the Tinashe ‘2On’ emoji.
“Rappers love telling stories with Emoji,” Lepkowski told Complex Mag. “They co-opt these things and make a language all their own. Think of every time Chief Keef fires off a tweet, or when you scroll through the comments on a rapper’s Instagram. Emoji are already a staple in the rap community. I’m creating Emoji that reflect the rap world.”
