Listen: Ecca Vandal - Father Hu$$la

Ecca Vandal’s third single will slap you just as hard as the rest have so far.

Ecca Vandal has once again hit us over the head with a punk/grunge/electro/hip hop concoction in her brand new single, Father Hu$$la. Having only released two other tracks, Ecca Vandal has stormed into the Australian music scene with her genre-bending and unique, grime punk image. Creating a sweet and sour mixture of early grunge, punchy punk and heavy electro, she has reminded us that she is a force to be reckoned with on every track. Father Hu$$la starts off with poppy/jumpy vocals, a relatively steady beat and low punchy electro sounds, then, just as you think you’ve figured it all out, the track explodes with hard hitting punk chords, energetic dance music synths and in your face lyricisms and vocals of Ecca.

Father Hu$$la works like an intense story; with a slow build up, climax and conclusion, a track that experiments with a blending of sounds you could never imagine combining until now. And it’s this hard-to-define, genre-clashing chaotic sound that makes Ecca Vandal one of the most exciting sounds of this decade - like some kinda fucked up mish-mash of Santigold, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Die Antwoord and Crystal Castles... oh, and perfect.
