5 Inspiring Tracks with Brisbane's Gallus

The Brisbane rapper offers some of his inspiring songs ahead of Infest The Night this Friday.

Here at Pilerats we definitely bleat on a bit about the BNE hip hop scene, but like the grunge/punk scene before it, Brisbane's becoming synonymous for exciting young Australian rappers. Take for instance, Gallus, who spent a lot of 2016 buried away in his studio following the release of his excellent debut single, Versatile/Apathetic at the end of 2015.

Well 2017 is here and so is Gallus, getting the ball rolling with his first killer single of the year, Lionheart, and this Friday a seriously rad show called Infest The Night, featuring himself, Cult Shotta, Tyrone and iiiconic, taking over Woolly Mammoth for an inside look at the future of Australia's hip hop scene. To get you warmed up, we asked Gallus for some of his inspirations, and his answers may surprise you (and click the poster down the bottom to get more info on the show).

5 TRACKS THAT INSPIRE ME w/ GALLUS:

Cult Shotta - No Fatigue

These boys are so much fun to party with and their music is as original as my mi goring lentil combo with egg. Don't judge until you try it!

Graves - Fear

Heaviest band out of Aus' at the moment. Reminds me of old Acacia Strain and MAWSH!

Carmouflage Rose - Rockstar

Because he’s a rockstar. Seriously it’s gets really annoying sometimes when you’re trying to chill out with him. This guy is talent incarnate, nothing’s gonna get in the way of his success.

Cursed Earth - Voyeurism

Some good fucking hardcore! Sick riffs in the breakdown!

Miles Away - Endless Roads

This album, this whole fucking album!
