Watch: Hot Chip - Started Right

Watch: Hot Chip - Started Right

An obscure new video from English electronica legends, Hot Chip.

Following a sold out tour of Europe, Hot Chip are wrapping up their North American dates, and a few nights ago the band brought their remarkable form of funk-electronica to the stage of Conan, performing a fantastic version of Started Right live on the show.

Hot Chip have now followed that performance up with an interesting video clip for the track, a relatively understated single off their critically acclaimed sixth album, Why Make Sense? The clip, directed by Rollo Jackson (Danny Brown, Angel Haze), features a young woman singing along at some down-trodden karaoke bar. This is interspersed with random cartoon clips, found footage and scattered karaoke lyrics running across screen, making this video an unusually entertaining watch. The shadowy clip has an appealing neo-funk feel to it that syncs up perfectly with Alexis Taylor’s tender lyrics and what is a very danceable track. Can’t wait for these lords to come back to Australia.
