Get to know Australian/German duo The Nice Nice, and their cruisy blend of indie electronica
They've just dropped a delightful new single, Miss Me Sometimes U Do.
Miss Me Sometimes You Do is the third new single frrom The Nice Nice - the Australian/German duo - in the past three months, and they're quickly building up a wonderful collection of hazy indie/electronic sounds. With elements of psych-pop scattered throughout, it's a unique sound that's definitely caught the attention of Japanese actor/writer Kunichi Nomura (Islde Of Dogs, Lost In Translation) who invited them to Japan to perform some intimate acoustic sets.
The steady schedule is building up to the release of their debut EP EP I, due out January 2019, but until then we've shared a couple of tracks and a short'n'sweet little interview with the duo below:
Tell us about yourselves?
Two boys based in Munich, Germany who first met under the rare circumstances of the mysterious phenomenon "Between Two Chris's" (The love for Chris Rea & Chris Isaak).
What kinda tunes we talkin’?
Music that can break and repair your heart in minutes. Something to love, something to cry about.
Production/writing process:
Long evenings at Marmalade City Sound Studios in Munich. Usually beginning with a sweet melody accompanied with a glass of white wine.
Can you tell us about your single, Pleasure Leisure?
Pleasure Leisure was the second song we wrote together and also our second single. The lyrics were taken from an older conservative woman speaking on Fox News about the youth of today having “too much Pleasure from too much Leisure”. We also got to use one of my favourite instruments on this track - Omni-Chord Forever.
Any shows coming up?
We will be playing shows in January and February in Germany with our five piece live band to support our debut release, EP I.
What’s the rest of the year have in store?
We will be releasing three 4-track EPs in 2019.
Where can we hear more of your music?
