Sydney-based artist PRINCI (fka Kimchi Princi) has unveiled a thumping new future-club belter called FYI that we think you'll find absolutely irresistible. Working with fellow Sydney-sider Atro, the sinister bass stabs combine with PRINCI's airy vocals that just feels like it's born and bred for the deepest, darkest, dankest dancefloor you can find.
The single is the first track under her new moniker, and is leading up to the release of a new album later this year. Until then, get to know her a little better below and keep your eyes peeled for a new video clip for the track real soon.
Tell us about yourself?
Hey hello hi I’m PRINCI. I’m a Sydney-based artist. I like all things fantasy, excess, fragile and fabulous. I’m an early riser, a double-Virgo and dedicated Michael Jackson fan.
What kinda tunes we talkin’?
We’re talking cultural anthems and bedroom bops. Sitting somewhere between Future and Lana Del Rey.
Can you tell us about your new single, FYI (prod. Atro)?
I wrote FYI when I was in a darker place, when I had kind of been soaking in self-doubt and letting things of the past get the best of me. I wrote it as an anthem that would lift me up, turn a mood from nothing to something. And I wanted anyone else who listened to it to be able to have that too. This track truly means so much to me. Zac (Atro aka DJ Atro AKA half of Slim Set) and I worked on every little aspect of the song, and I think we’ve both gotten way better at our process from it. He’s an amazing producer and such a force right now in Aus-club music (we have a few tracks coming out together and I can’t wait).
Any shows coming up?
I have an Asia tour in the works and some launches around Australia for the release of my album.
What’s the rest of the year have in store?
Birthing my debut album and all its candy (music videos, merch, tours and more).
Where can we hear more of your music?
