Premiere: WILSN caps off her explosive year with Sweet Thing

In a year full of successes, the Melbourne-based musician caps off what's been a break-out year with one final track.

WILSN has been a rising star amongst the Melbourne live music scene for a while now, with her beginnings stretching back to the release of her debut EP Don't Give It Up back in 2015. In the past twelve months, however, she's taken things to an entirely different level: A string of singles dating back to last year's Do This paving the way for a new, self-titled EP, which has already since been followed with new work – Brand New World at the start of this month. She's supported acts like Meg Mac on the mainstage, and – in a hint that she's not going anywhere in future years – has been enlisted to support The Teskey Brothers in the UK and Europe next year, following up from their multi-ARIA Award-winning streak last night.

It's been a transformative year for WILSN that's showcased her consistent growth and evolution in the musical realm; her path since her earliest work shining clear as the sets her foot forward and develops a name that, as mentioned with her 16-date tour with The Teskey Brothers, promises longevity beyond many, many others. However, in saying that, she's not done with 2019 just yet, giving it one last hot go with a new single Sweet Thing, premiering on Pilerats today ahead of its official release tomorrow.

Sweet Thing is a dizzying return from WILSN that puts her vocal in the spotlight, crooning with a gentle, soulful R&B touch elevated by a production rich with keys and percussion. It's a really, really great moment that showcases exactly why WILSN is becoming such a brilliant force within the Australian indie-pop scene, and we have no doubts that she'll be going anywhere anytime soon – she's spectacular.

It arrives alongside an official video clip directed by Jack Stafford and shot by David McKinnar, which you can check out below as you introduce yourself to WILSN (if you're yet too, that is). Be sure to keep an eye on her as she strives into something brilliant in the years ahead.
