Premiere: Go BTS and watch the video clip for San Mei's latest single, Until You Feel Good
It's taken from her upcoming EP release, Necessary, due Friday 7 July.
After releasing her first single for 2017, Until You Feel Good, earlier this year, San Mei is keeping the ball rolling with a killer new video clip for the track, which is also the first taste of her new EP, Necessary, due Friday 7 July. It comes at a time when San Mei is truly establishing herself on the Aus' music scene, gigging heavily over the last six months and supporting the likes of Evan Klar, Polish Club and Elliphant to name a small few. The clip is produced/directed by Jennifer Embleton (Babaganouj, Huntly, Good Boy), who had this to say: "Until You Feel Good follows a young woman’s time-bending journey across the dream-like and the real when the memory of a boy from her past returns. But just as quickly as he appears, he is gone. The harder she tries, the quicker he slips away."
Check it out below, along with an exclusive series of photos shot around the recording of Until You Feel Good, with some commentary from San Mei:
Delirious at 12am sound searching. Things got weird.
Tools of the trade. My favourite pedal on this board is my vintage Deluxe Memory Man with its seasick, dreamy vibes. Chorus/delay/vibrato...this thing is almost always on. I'm also in love with the very luscious Joyo tremolo pedal which I can't believe only goes for $50.
Tracking guitars featuring the granny smiths that saved our souls from all the snacks.
Recording: Day 2. Guitar hand pain: Level 10.
12 hours of bar chord bliss.
The setup. Messy/productive.
Merciless battling: muso vs management.
Lewis AKA Shred Kelly on the mum guitar. Guitar genius, synth siren, partner in crime and VB drinking.
Vibez-ing.
Get back to work drummer boy. This is Michael, I’m being real when I say he’s too good for us. Drumming extraordinaire/multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter (yes, he's single)... It's been a privilege that this guy was stoked to be a part of the recording process.
Let’s take that bassline for a walk.
Drum cave.
The control room is nicer than my house. I’m ready to move in.
McCartney and his feels.
San Mei will be launching Necessary on Saturday 7 July at Miami Shark Bar on the Gold Coast, follow her on FACEBOOK for more info.
