Watch: Surfer Blood - Grand Inquisition

Watch: Surfer Blood - Grand Inquisition

For fans of Chris (Simpson Artist).

The time-old tale of the music industry is of bands getting picked up by major labels, chewed up for all their cash before they're spat out as shells of their former self. Or the more current story would be every artist to ever go onto a talent show like X-Factor. The clip for Grand Inquisition follows this tale but the graphics are done in a way that mashes up the views of Chris (Simpsons Artist) with the graphics of the 'Shrek Is Love. Shrek Is Life.' clip which I won't link in order to preserve our collective humanity. The tale is told in reverse with our hero's story beginning a thousand years ago in a Macca's carpark when a record label dude says, 'Driver! pull over now i have to toillet,' only to discover the world's biggest popstar. Initially, our friend gets the crowds going but as soon as he discovers drugs / alcohol his life starts to spiral out of control. This can be a attributed to a man with no t-shirt on but a fedora and John Lennon glasses. All the while the record label executive is being showered in cash, literally. And we end with our hero still playing in the same Macca's carpark 1000 years on. Inspiring stuff.
