Premiere: Last Quokka - Eat The Rich

Having established themselves as one of the west coast’s most prolific and exciting contemporary punk bands, Last Quokka aren’t letting 2022 end without squeezing in one more single (and east coast tour!), with the equally hilarious and catchy Eat The Rich set for a November 28 release and premiering on Pilerats today!

Bookending the year with a pair of singles, Eat The Rich follows on from January single Cue, with both tracks lifted from the band's forthcoming fifth album. As we’ve come to know and love from Last Quokka, Eat The Rich features scathing, brutally honest and piss-taking lyricism from vocalist Trent Rojahn. Offering a wild social commentary as only he can, as the title implies Eat The Rich sees Rojahn taking aim at the “elites”, in particular the “private school boy wankers of Perth’s ‘golden triangle’. (Remember THIS absolutely pathetic joke of a club night?!?!).

Musically Eat The Rich sees the Quokka’s continue the slightly bigger sound they brought on Cue after a bit of a line-up switch and addition of a second guitarist tightening things up and filling out the mix a bit more with big fuzzy riffs and relentless rhythm section.

To celebrate the release of Eat The Rich, the five-piece are heading off for some east coast shows in Melbourne and Sydney, including the CHOPPED festival alongside the likes of Amyl and The Sniffers, C.O.F.F.I.N. and many more - see below for all details.

3) Twiggy - just sick of this smug cunt pretending he’s one of the good ones. He’s not. Another rich white man destroying our country, made worse by his disingenuous virtue signalling. Slice him up piece by piece sashimi style and season with bush salt. 

4) David Koch - do you need an explanation? This guy is the absolute fucking worst. Deep fry with some secret herbs and spices. 

5) Clive Palmer - just sick to death of this guy sliding into our DMs every time there’s an election coming up. Probably not safe for eating.
