Introducing Back Back Forward Punch
Introducing Back Back Forward Punch

Learn a little about Melbourne disco duo BBFP, and hear their new single/remixes.

Back Back Forward Punch are... Well we'll let them tell you. They've just released their third single for the year, Emergency Bow Tie, and it's dripping in funky nu-disco vibes, a bit of Chromeo there, a bit of Bag Raiders there - it's all summer vibes. Take a listen below, along with some remixes from Aussie electro kids Sun City and Pigeon, and UK d-floor fiend Mighty Mouse.

Who are you? We are Back Back Forward Punch. Andy and Laura

How’d you meet? We met at a pub in Newcastle. In Newcastle everyone eventually meets everyone else in a pub.

What kinda tunes we talkin’? We make bleepy pop electronica, influenced by disco and electro. We want to make people move around.

Production process: Laura does vocals and lyrics, and Andy does all the production, live keys, and talk-box. We both work on the style and shaping the sound of the instruments we use. It all gets produced and recorded in a dark home studio/cave with walls covered in thick black curtains, and LEDs everywhere.

What do you do outside of BBFP? Andy brings power to the people. And Laura brings science to the people.

Any shows coming up? We’ve been asked to go on tour with an up very awesome Australian electronic band. We’re not allowed to say who it is yet, but hopefully we can tell soon.

What’s the rest of the year have instore? Not many weeks left, so we're going to eat lots and get fat. We're done with releases for this year, but we're already planning our next one for early 2014.

Where can we hear more of your gear? Search for us on Spotify, iTunes, or you can check us out on FACEBOOK, SOUNDCLOUD and TRIPLE J UNEARTHED.
